Dear Parents,

I am so excited that you are here!  I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child and I know we will have a fun, educational, and overall fantastic school year here at Owl Creek School.  I have so many great things planned and a lot of ideas to share with your children.  I know how much you care about your child's education, and I will do everything I can to ensure a successful year of preschool!

A little about me:  This will be my third year to teach at Owl Creek, and there is no where I would rather be!  Teaching preschool is my dream job.  I love children, and I love preschool.  I am a graduate of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, where I earned a degree in Elementary Education and I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching at Webster University.  I have been trained through the Arkansas Department of Education to obtain a teaching license.  I am so blessed to have this remarkable opportunity to educate your child.

I have included some very valuable information in this packet.  Please take the time to look over it very carefully.  If you have any questions or concerns about any of the information in the packet, or anything you would like to know in addition, please don't hesitate to contact me. In this packet, you will find information about how our classroom will "run,"  how your child will learn, how I will assess your child's progress and achievements, how our portfolios work, and some very important guidelines that are unique to our preschool classroom.  Please, keep this packet to refer to if you have any questions about any of these policies and procedures.

In order for our classroom to run smoothly, it is imperative that everyone adheres to all of the guidelines and school policies, without exception.  It will take a while (usually about a month) for everyone (you, me, and the children) to adjust to all of these procedures, but it will be in the best interest of all involved to respect and adhere to them.

I am so proud and excited to have Christy Centers as co-teacher this year.  We are so happy to have her help and guidance in our classroom again this year.  Christy has been a co-teacher at Owl Creek for three and a half years and she also worked for EOA Head Start for nine years.

I know this probably seems like a lot to take in all at once, but soon everything will fall into place and our classroom will be a safe, fun, happy place to be where everyone is learning!

Thank you all for your support.  I appreciate each and every one of you and I look forward to working with you this year.
